NCC operates three schools for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Our innovative educational and related services – including developmentally appropriate curricula, stimulating classroom activities, therapeutic interventions and community experiences – ensure that our students receive a quality education and an effective transition into their communities with the highest level of independence possible. Each student works toward goals that are outlined in an Individualized Educational Program (IEP), which is developed and updated by the student (as appropriate), his or her guardian, and an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Each student’s success is measured by the progress made in attaining these individualized goals.
